WELCOME TO SOUTH NORTH NEXUS!
SOUTH NORTH NEXUS LISTENS LOCALLY AND CONTRIBUTES GLOBALLY
Our Mission: SNN seeks to build resilient livelihoods by promoting equity and social justice for all; engaging women, disregarded communities, and immigrants; and prioritizing access to water and food security.
From Patagonia in South America to the Rocky Mountains of North America, SNN partners with a range of stakeholders to address the most pressing problems facing those with the smallest voices.
We are committed to bringing people together to tackle their challenges related to climate adaptation and mitigation planning, migration, water use and conservation, food system integrity, gender empowerment, and social justice.
Sustainable long-term solutions that protect livelihoods and the planet are urgently needed, starting with the framework of the United Nations Strategic Development Goals and leaving no one behind.

VISIONSNN is a platform that represents innovative solutions, equity and social justice for all, with special attention to the most vulnerable. We are committed to global development that sustainably protects livelihoods, communities and the planet. Today the challenges are great and urgent. It is up to each of us as global citizens to find and share solutions that build resilience in the face of climate shocks, promote dignity for those furthest behind, and guarantee access to basic human rights, including food, water, shelter, health, and education. Essential is developing a common understanding, among communities, organizations, private sector and individuals, that we face shared problems and their consequences. SNN seeks to be a catalyst for dialogue between the South and the North, and for South-South cooperation. Together we can positively shape our shared future! |

2023 International Learning Exchange
South North Nexus and BioRegions International organized an International Learning Exchange: Sharing Livelihood Challenges and Local Solutions, with project teams from Mongolia, Kenya, Colombia, Mexico and Montana.
The September 2023 Exchange provided the opportunity to share experiences across regions and highlight how the teams are dealing with local livelihood challenges and finding community-based solutions. The teams were able to discuss with academics and practitioners from Montana State University and around the state, and visit innovative farms and share experiences with farmers and indigenous communities.
Topics centered around diversifying livelihoods to deal with climate change in dry ecosystems, regenerative agriculture practices to produce healthy foods, empowering women with a focus on small business practices, and solutions for integrating immigrants.
